The place becomes an address
The geocoder picks one place and says how sure it is. A cell is about 10 m on a side; it is an address, not a measurement.
The signed reading stored there
Recall returns every stored reading of the band, oldest first, and names the latest in current_by_band. If nothing is stored, emem fetches it from the upstream source and signs it.
Check the signature here
The receipt signs the request id, the time, the cells and the fact ids it served. This page rebuilds that preimage byte for byte, hashes it and checks the Ed25519 signature. Then it edits one field and checks again.
Check the fact is the bytes it names
A fact's id is the BLAKE3 hash of its canonical CBOR. Ask for those bytes and hash them here. If one byte differs, the name no longer matches.
Hand on the token, not the number
Another agent resolves the token and gets the same signed bytes, without trusting you or this page.
What this does not show
- That the upstream measurement is accurate. The signature says emem served these bytes; the source's own validation says how good they are.
- An average over the cell. The value is the source pixel that overlaps it; the response's
spatial_basissays so, and a 30 m DEM pixel covers many cells. - That the reading is from today. Read
observed_at: static layers are years old, and a fresh fetch that times out leaves the latest stored reading as the answer.
